Moving On - Pt12 (END)

It's been a year and four months now that you've lived here, the other group took off in the middle of winter, taking tons of your stuff with them.  Somehow they managed to drain the well behind your back, and now its time for your group to pack up and move on.

You call a group meeting, you know this is going to be hard for so many of your group to hear, but you need to find a new place to stay, or else you will all die.

You explain that dan and his group did what he had already said, move on.  You explain they will pay for doing this, and that you will follow their trail, and you have an idea where they were going.  So your group packs up and gets moving, its a tough walk of shame, but you all know it has to be done.  You spend weeks on the road, camping in small buildings ect until you manage to catch up with good ol dan and he group.

Your group hangs back, and you watch them for awhile.  They seemed to have made a old truck bed into a pull along thing, and your water is in the back of it.  Looks like it takes at least 10 people to pull it.  You notice their leader going off into a ditch, odds are to either take a piss or shit.  So you decide to sneak up on him, sure enough he is taking a shit.  You sneak up to him, put your gun to his head and tell him not to make a sound or move.  As you get in front of him, he is pale as a ghost, you smile and tell him, what you think we wouldn't track you down?  You tell him to clean his ass up and make him self decent.  Which he does.  He tries to explain, but you are not having it.  You tell him to give back what they stole, and you will consider letting them all go.  He shakes his head, he says he can't do that.  His group voted to do what they did, and that is what it is.  You are really pissed now, you explain the agreement, and that they should of known better.  Trust is earned, and yet they took you for a fool, and now it's their time to pay.  Your group outnumbers them, and surrounds them, with guns pointed you tell your group to move in.  With this, you tell their leader to get moving, once the other group is disarmed, your group takes it all, and your 2nd in command wants to leave food for the kids here.  Yeah, we can do that, take their ammo, leave their guns, least they can look the part still.

Once you have what was taken plus more, you move on.  The other group just vanishes.  You find something on your way.  An old military bunker, so you check it out, lucky it's not in use, so your group makes a vote, we stay here for now on.  Funny enough, it has a stock pile of water, and even a well.

Fast Forward 4 years >>>>>>

Your group has been doing good, anyone around you knows who you all are.  After 4 years of living here, reports are coming in that the government is coming back together, cleaning up city's, getting power back on ect.  It will be a long time before everything comes back around, but your group has still choose to stay here until that time comes.

**THIS PART WAS UNPUBLISHED BECAUSE I HAD NO TIME TO COMPLETE IT, THIS IS THE END OF THE STORY.**

Thank YOU!

It's time for this blog to end.  My last post was in 2014, and I simply forgot about it.  It was fun writing what I have, but I already know that I just won't have time.

Prep and wait,
it could always happen.

More Bad Blood - Pt11

The other group decided to take you up on the limited help, and even though they are hostile about you being around, you make it clear as glass that you are only here to help and nothing more, while this puts some of the group at rest, others still don't want you around at all.
You report back to your group, tell them that you are going to help them some, but you can only give them limited help due to the fact your group comes first.  You gather a small amount of supply's in a box (water, food, first aid stuff, meds ect...) and you also disarm yourself with no weapons to show them respect and that you are not currently a threat to them.
As you walk up to their gates, the group owner only lets you in, only because you have no weapons.  You had him the supply's and tell him you can only give small limited amount, and he nods to you and asks you to sit for a few.  You spend a few hours talking about this and that, but nothing important about your groups.  You decide to switch topics, and start talking about your group and that you have almost been in this area for about a year now or so.

You explain that the area's resource's are almost dried up if not already and that the water source you had is almost gone too.  You also explain about the last group who was here that you had an agreement with decided to start stealing water because they wanted to move on after a few months and that you couldn't let them get away with it, so you ran them off.  After this, the other group leader seems to open up to you explaining that his group is always on the move because they can never find a really safe place from anyone.

You nod your head and tell him that was the same thing for your group for a long time, and that this place seems safe enough and that hardly anyone passes by anymore.  You tell the other groups leader *Dan* that you are always looking for more information on the areas out there in the "wild".  You ask if they passed through the city, and he says yes, but it was bad, nothing really left and lots of gangs fighting for anything they can get, its best to stay clear of any city.  He notes that many smallish towns seem to be left alone for the most part, and that is how they made their way here.  You tell him the town just a few miles down the road has been picked clean by your group.  Dan nods to you, says he figured it was already gone when he saw your group.

You tell dan that he should talk to his group and explain that both groups can combine efforts in keeping this area safe, and work together to better both groups.
[Some kind of peace agreement and work agreement ect.]

Dan nods to the idea, but explains that lots of his group won't trust yours because many others have back stabbed them before, and now they don't like joining forces with other groups of people.  Dan can see the good in you, and the respect and trust, as he tell you.  He will try to get people on board with the idea, and maybe have a huge group meeting between both groups.

You nod, and say that is a good idea, and decide to call it a day.

The Return - Pt10

Your scouts report that a small group of people have stopped off at the old groups location, you ask if they can tell if its the same people or new.  Unable to tell, you gather a small group and proceed to the area to speak with this other group.  You notice that they seem really hostile to your group, and want nothing to do with you and just ask you to leave.  You refuse to leave, and ask to peak with the group leader, who won't come close to you.  So you explain that they may use this old camp, and that they are some what close to your group and that you will defend your area if they attempt anything.  You decide to also explain that if they are willing, both groups can help each other on on limited basis.

Outcomes:

#1. Even though they are hostile, they have yet to threaten you, or attack you, which could be a good sign, or a sign of bad things to come.  Odds are they will tell you to screw off, and you should just leave them alone, just keep eyes on them so they can't get too close.

#2. They accept your offer of limited help, and both groups coexist for a while until your group or the other gets tired of the crap and decides to either move on or possibly attack you.

Either one could happen, so keep your heads up.

Gone at last! - Pt9

The other group has taken off, and its been about 4 hours from the time they left, you are still not sure if they will try to double back on you, so you keep your group at the ready.  You and a small group of men decide to check out the other groups old camp, maybe they left something, but odds are they didn't.  As you near the gate, its been left unlatched, but chained and locked..  This throws up red flags to you and your group.  You consider that they may have planned to double back sooner or later, and didn't want anyone to over take this place.  Why would anyone lock up an abandoned camp?  Unless they planned on returning, and left supplies in one of the houses.

You decide to just cut the chain, and as you swing the gate open, nothing happens.  Glad for that you and your men move in, in a tight pack, watching every little thing around you.  You check the first house top to bottom, nothing but clothes used to wipe their asses, this must of been their shit house.. :/

You come to the 2nd house, and the windows and doors are locked.... Strange...  So without questioning it, you kick in the door.  You and your men walk threw the whole house, find torn clothes, old shoes, but nothing worth locking the house up.  You move threw house 3 & 4 without problems, and find nothing of value.  However, house 5 seems to have been their HQ of sorts, and you peer into the window, you can see maps and other items.  Once inside, you search thew the house, find a small amount of food, and ammo, and notes and maps.  You decide to take the food, leave the notes and maps, and stage the place in the off chance they try to come back.

Water Source drying up.. - Pt8 (Pt2)

You explaining anything to these guys is not working.  You now only have a choice to bluff them into thinking they are surrounded by your men.  You play your bluff, but it seems only the leader is not buying it.  However, you explain to him, to just drop this load of water, and go back to his camp and leave, as you already know they are packed and ready.  Some reason he agrees, and they leave the water and go back to their camp.  It is now that you realize the following:

1. Trust must now be earned by all groups/people before they are allowed to get their own food/water from your sources.

2. It's time to create bluff plans, make sure you know them, and your group knows them well.

3. Don't deal with well armed groups/people, bluff them if you must.

4. Don't let other groups inhabit other area's around your area, unless they have earned your trust.

5. Scout Spy's, have a few group members check in on another group, making sure they take notes of their area and whatever else is needed.

It's your call, do as you see fit when the time comes.

Water Source drying up.. - Pt8

Its summer, its hot out there and it has not rained in weeks, by the way things are going, the water source will dry up in a few days time.  Your own water reserves are almost tapped, and its time for a big water gather.  Once you get there, its just as you thought, almost gone, as you proceed to the filling area, the other group is filling lots of bottles.  Once out of your truck, you proceed to stop their filling.  You explain that the agreement between the two groups, and that right now they are done because they half have a truck load.  The main guy disagrees and tells you they can take as much as they want.  You tell one of your guys to go get the leader of their group.

You explain to the leader that his guys are taking more than the agreement allows, that sharing is apart of both groups, and no one group gets it all or more than they are allowed.  As he explains that he is collecting 2 weeks worth of water because they are leaving tomorrow.  He is just taking what is theirs to go.  This however does not go down well with you, as you explain that the agreement forbids taking extra water if the group has decided to move on.  This really makes the other group mad, and they keep claiming it theirs.

More to come! ;)

Not Gone... Still There... - Pt7

Your scouts report that this other group is setting up a big camp near the water source where you get all your water.  So what is your next move?  What can you do to protect your water source?

1. Try talking to them first, try to draw up a peace plan and water sharing agreement. If that fails, go to step 2.

2. Draw up an attack plan.  (You need this plan to be flawless, you need to keep it simple, but effective.)

3. Limit ammo.  (Its going to be hard to do, but save what you can)

4. Backup Plan, never leave home without it

5. If you have too, use gas to set houses a blaze

If you mange to set up a peace and water sharing agreement, make sure you have people at the water source as much as you can.

"Hoard of Survivors" - Pt6

One of the scouts reports a "hoard" of survivors coming your way.  You notice that some in your group are showing signs of emoticon.  Some are glad to hear it, while others fear it.  You don't know what these people will do when they get close, or anything for that matter.

You need to take action now.  Put Plan A out on the table and get it going.

As this group gets closer, you can see military type vehicles, and lots of uniformed people.  As this group approaches your area, they notice you.  As they slow to a halt and stop in front of your place, a guy hops out of the lead truck.  Before you speak to anyone, you are informed by one of your group members that Plan A is ready.

You decided to meet with this groups leader at your front gate armed..

You know Plan A is ready, and while talking one of your guys pulls you to the side...
"They've gotten us blocked in on all sides..."

*(Anything can happen, what I write below here is just an example story line type deal, it may not happen..)*

Plan A is a failure, so you start Plan B.
You notice the other groups leader getting a little bit edgy while talking..  He is up to something.
He flat out tells you "either you join us and share what you have, or we take it."

You crack a smile and tell him its not worth his group getting killed over a small amount of food.  You let him know that you have eyes all over the area, and if you must fight, you will do so.

As the leader of this other group is informed that there are people in these other houses..  Plan B has been set into motion.  The pale color of this guys face says it all, as he and his group proceed to back off and leave.

Not Gone... Still There... - Pt7(Next)

Time to play it safe - Pt5

You've managed to get everything completed.  Heck you may have a few months of food and water  saved up now.  It's time to play it safe, and by that I mean take it easy, but not too easy.

1. Keep your group working on daily tasks, and let them know that even though you've not seen many people around, does not mean someone is not watching...

2. Daily or Bi-Daily drills.  Do these with your group so they know what to do if they ever need to make a run for it.

3.  Keep security tight.  Don't let it slack too much, keep them on alert.

4.  Scouting.  Now that it has become a bit "relaxed" you may want to consider this option.  However give them a time limit on how long they need to be gone.  A normal scouting missing may take up to 5 hours or maybe less, depending on how far you are going.  Give them an hour to get there, 3 to look around, and 1 to get back.

5.  Never let anyone get too relaxed.  You may spend weeks or months with nothing happening around you.  Then again, you may not.

Weapons - Pt4

You've done it!  You have yourself a group of maybe 10 people (example).  Your only problem now is defending yourself from those who want to take what you have.  You are limited to knifes and 3 guns and have limited ammo.  Your fear of scouting further than your safe zone has come true, you need to find food and water, and more weapons and ammo.  You have some hard choices to make...

1. Take one gun and a small hand full of ammo.  This is your "last resort" for anyone.

2. Know your area!

3.  Once you are near your goal area, try to be fast as you can.

4.  If you find what you need, grab as much as you can carry, and then get the hell outta there.

5.  While you are at it, try finding some first aid kits.

6. Get back to your safe zone!!

Your almost home free, but what is this?!  5 to 6 people in front of your safe zone...
Time to play it safe - Pt5

Safe Zone Fortification - Pt 3

It's time to make your place safe, and you need to act quick.  If you have a plan, then move on it.  You need to make sure that you do everything you can to prevent anyone from entering your safe zone, unless you let them in.

1. Scout the area, maybe your near more houses and chances are, they maybe already abandoned.

2. Supplies - hammers, nails, screws, wood, chains, rope, and anything else that can be useful in your fortification process.

3. Secure all windows and doors

4. Evac plans (you never know, if your fortification fails, you need a one way out.)

5. Even if the 2nd floor looks safe, many will still attempt to access it, heavy objects and help block windows and doors.

6. Help people that you know. (If you know them from the area, let them know what you are doing, and that it will be much safer at your place and to bring supplies and food.)

You need to remember, don't force someone to join you.  If they feel safer where they are, then let them be, but no matter what, try to help them if they really need it.
Next up.  Weapons - Pt4

Escaping the City - Pt2

Your stuck in your office, before the power went out, an official source told everyone over the radio to evac the city.  It's been almost 2 weeks from that announcement and you really need to leave, simply put, you are almost out of water and food.

1. Find something to carry bottles of water and food (example a briefcase)

2. Find something you can defend yourself with (your in some kind of business, there has to be SOMETHING sharp around you)

3. Make your way to your car (just hope nobody has taken the gas yet!)

4. Get the hell outta there!

5. Don't stop for anything or anyone!  Just get to where you are going!

6. Once you reach the place you wanted to go, scout the area from inside your car.

7.  If you feel it is safe, then get your ass inside where ever it is you went.

Now that you've made it (I hope), its time to start making your place a safe zone.
You are going to need supplies, but thats for the next post!

2. Escaping the City - Pt1

2. Escaping the City - Pt1

The apocalypse has happened, you are stuck in your work building on the 30th floor.. You've been here for almost 2 weeks and are running low on water and food.  Some of your co/workers have already left, but you decided it would be better to stay here for awhile...  Now that your water and food are almost gone, you have to choose what the next step is.  Should you stay and search the building for more food/water or should you make a mad dash for your home?

If you choose to make a mad dash for home, you need to plan for it.

Stay tuned for Part 2 Tomorrow!

1. Survival and Protection

Survival and Protection

For anyone, this should be the first thing that comes to you when/if the apocalypse happens.  You need to plan out what you need to do before hand, and make sure you stick to it.

1. Gather all your food and store it in a safe place along with pans and items you can use to cook with.
2. Lock all doors and windows (if at all possible, block windows with tables or something else)
3. If you still have running water, start filling up sinks and your bathtub and other items that can carry it.
4. Arm yourself with what you have, guns, knifes, heavy pans ect..
5. Have an escape plan ready
6. Have a fall back escape plan if your main escape plan fails
7. Gas.  If you can store it, do it.
8. If friends join you, stock pile their food and water with yours, and their weapons and ammo and take charge over the group.
9. Don't Panic!

Food
The first thing on your list should be food.  Get everything that can be saved and used to a safe location and if you can, lock it up.  Don't forget your pans!!  If your going to survive, no matter how much food you have, you need to start conserving it from the start.

Locking Doors and Windows
The next thing is to make your place as safe as you can.  Locking windows and doors will help, and you may need to block some windows to make them safer.

Water
We all know water will be a big factor if/when the apocalypse happens, so its your best bet to get your bottles, milk jugs, sinks and bathtubs filled if you still can.  If other items can hold water, use them too.  You can't live long without it, and we all know it.  If you have a water filter container, its your best bet to grab that and store it also, you will need it.

Arming Yourself
You are going to need weapons, in case something does happen.  Guns, knifes, heavy frying pans, saws, ect...  If its sharp, or has a point, consider it a weapon.

Escape Plans
Don't ever think your plan can't fail, even once you have sat down and talked it over with your family or group.  Even the best plans have flaws, and may not work when the time comes to use them.  You need to have everything at a hands grab, ready to go if you need to run.  ALWAYS have a backup plan at the ready, if the main one fails.

Gas
If you can store it, do it.  This will keep you from having to walk, atleast for a little while.  This will become a rare item just like water and food.  If you choose to look for more once you are running low, do that at your own risk.

Friends and Family Joining You
If any friends or family join you, let them know that you are stock piling their food, water, weapons, ammo ect.. with yours.  You are also in charge of this group, and that you will see to it that the food and water is not wasted.

Don't Panic
The worst thing you can do is panic.  You need to start thinking and preping.

Welcome to The Unofficial Apocalypse Guide!

Welcome!  I decided to call this "Unofficial" because its just that.  I wanted to share what I think is important for an apocalypse, if one were to ever happen.  Each blog post will be named with a part of the guide.  I hope you enjoy what I have to say!
